Co-organised by University of the Arts London (UAL) and London Arts Portfolio Academy (LAPA), Rory Mooney (Lecturer and Design Tutor for Fashion from Central Saint Martins) will once again be back in Hong Kong to deliver the Central Saint Martins Portfolio Summer Course – complete the course with satisfactory result for a Certificate of Attendance from Central Saint Martins! Students may also go for the Art & Design Portfolio Preparation Courses run by LAPA, to complete multiple projects within just one summer.
The Central Saint Martins Portfolio Summer Course and LAPA’s Art & Design Portfolio Preparation Courses aim at bringing University of the Arts London’s teaching model to Hong Kong, allowing students to experience the learning approach from Britain’s world-leading art university.
Structured in two-week blocks, students will focus on completing one project every two weeks. Following a Project-based Learning approach, students will enjoy a high degree of creative autonomy and are free to do what they want under the guidance of Rory Mooney, Lecturer and Design Tutor for Fashion from Central Saint Martins (CSM), and tutors from London Arts Portfolio Academy (LAPA).
Teaching is delivered primarily through hands-on workshops, where students are expect to get their hands dirty as they explore and develop their ideas, work on drawing and creative skills, and do visual research and creative experiments. They will also learn to document their creative process and reflection, in a way approved by top art schools.
Students can join multiple sessions during the summer holiday, to explore a range of Art & Design mediums and specialisms, and complete multiple projects good enough to be included in the their Art & Design portfolios.
